Digital cutting

SODERTEX has a digital cutting table that is used to cut all types of material based on computerised drawings (dxf files, AI files). Our equipment accepts materials with a maximum width of 1800 mm and of any length. We can also cut plates.

You want to perform a cutting test?

To avoid any surprises, using a sample of your material, we can perform a cutting test and design an optimised offer. This process saves you from investing in expensive cutting tools and allows you to view the result of a cut, simply by sending us a sample. Our custom digital cutting process also allows us to make “mid-way” cuts when we cut out the stick-on material, so that the stick-on backing is easier to remove.

Unrolled cutting

Each year, we invest in improving this process that involves cutting a roll (a parent reel) into different widths to provide you with reels (child reels). In contrast to the custom cutting technique, our unrolled cutting machines have the ability to rectify the placement of the material as the cutting operation progresses, which makes it possible to achieve tolerances of 1 mm, even less, on child reels. Diversity and performance of our knives allow us to adapt to any type of flexible material.

Hot cutting for synthetic material

With regard to synthetic materials (polyester, polyamide, etc.) we recommend hot cutting which will allow cutting and welding without marking the edges of the child reels.

Combined “hot and cold” cutting

In case of some “difficult” materials, we opt for a combined “hot and cold” cutting that is used to get an optimum cutting quality. Here are some technical features:

• ”Standard” tolerances: + or – 1 mm
• Outer diameter of the mandrels of your parent reels: 800 mm
• Outer diameter of the mandrels of your child reels: 580 mm
• Maximum width of your parent reel: 2200 mm
• Minimum width of the child reels: 10 mm
• Maximum diameter of the parent reels: 800 mm, 1000 mm if the parent reel’s width does not exceed 1500
• Maximum diameter of the child reels: 600 mm
• Maximum weight of the parent reels: 250 kgs, 1 tonne if the parent reel’s width does not exceed 1500 mm
